Strawberry Lime Ginger Sorbet

This recipe came from a cooking class I took at Rough Creek Lodge and Resort in Glen Rose, Texas. Very refreshing.


Servings: 4-6

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds strawberries

  • 1 ½ cups sugar

  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger*

  • 2 tablespoons lime juice

  • 1 teaspoon lime zest

Instructions:

Puree ingredients in blender. Pour in ice cream maker and freeze.

Chef’s Tip:

To keep fresh ginger so that you can use it more than once, then throw it away because it gets old before you need it again, peel it when you get it home from the market, put it in a zip-lock bag and freeze it. It grates much more easily when frozen, and lasts until it’s gone.
