Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is Ina Garten’s recipe. I love these cookies!


Servings: about 3 dozen cookies

Ingredients:

  • ½ pound (2 sticks) butter at room temperature

  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 cups flour

  • 1 teaspoon soda

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 ¼ pounds semisweet chocolate chunks

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray baking sheets with non-stick spray or use silpats.

  2. Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.

  3. Add vanilla, then the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

  4. Sift flour, soda, and salt, add to butter mixture, mixing only until combined.

  5. Fold in the chocolate chunks.

  6. Drop the dough on baking sheets in tablespoons. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes. Remove and let cool slightly on pan, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
