Mom’s Vanilla Ice Cream

We grew up standing on the crank ice cream maker to hold it down while dad turned the crank. This flavor says hot summer days and warm evenings with family and friends. Thanks mom.


Servings: 1 Quart’s Worth

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg

  • ½ cup plus 1 tablespoon sugar

  • ½ cup whipping cream

  • ½ cup half and half

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • ½ teaspoon lemon extract

  • 1 ¼ cup milk

Instructions:

  1. Beat egg and sugar until smooth and creamy.

  2. Add whipping cream, half and half, vanilla, lemon extract and salt. Beat well.

  3. Add milk.

  4. Freeze according to freezer directions.
